Bharath has over 20 years of experience in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which began with his BDS degree in 2004 from India. Following this, he trained at the Royal London Hospital, completing the PGDDS course in 2007, with a focus on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Medicine. His extensive training in craniofacial distraction, trauma management, orthognathic surgery, along with head and neck skin surgery at various units including University Hospital Coventry, Southampton General Hospital, and Peterborough City Hospital, has shaped him into the surgeon he is today.
He has been a Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Peterborough City Hospital for nine years. Giving back to the profession that has nurtured him has always been integral to him. In line with this, he acts as a Regional Advisor for Dentistry for the East of England through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPS Glas.) and is an associate member and faculty member of the Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group (SORG) for pre-prosthetic surgery.
He also lectures on various current topics relevant to Oral Surgery via diverse platforms runs a hands-on trauma management courses for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery trainees. Furthermore, he mentors colleagues in dental implantology and pre-prosthetic surgery. His special interest lies in full mouth implant rehabilitation with All-on-4/All-on-6 same-day teeth treatments.
At The Ackerman Clinic, he is part of one of the few centers in the country that offers IPS Sub-Periosteal implants from KLS Martin.
